The Arkati Mosque is distinguished by a facade covered in colorful tiles and minarets that overlook the central roundabout near the Sule Pagoda. As one of the largest mosques in downtown Yangon, it serves as a central place of worship for the local Muslim community. Built in the nineteenth century, the mosque was established by immigrants from East Bengal, which is modern-day Bangladesh.
