The Bhimsen Temple stands in the middle of the road in the old bazaar of Pokhara, recognizable by its two-tiered pagoda design constructed from fired brick and wood. Dating to the eighteenth century, the temple serves as a center for the Newari community and is dedicated to Bhimsen, the deity associated with trade and commerce. The exterior is marked by intricate wood carvings on the doors, windows, and pillars, including traditional erotic carvings on its support struts.
