The Yunyan Temple Pagoda crowns the summit of Tiger Hill, its seven-story octagonal brick structure leaning noticeably to the north. Completed in the tenth century during the early years of the Song Dynasty, this tower has shifted over time due to the settling of the soil beneath its foundations. Its distinctive tilt has earned it the nickname of the Leaning Tower of China, and it remains the oldest surviving pagoda in the city.
