Baisha Ancient Town rests at the southern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, its stone lanes and tiled roofs distinguished by a backdrop of snow-capped peaks. Known as the earliest settlement of the Naxi people, it served as the political, economic, and cultural center of the region from the Tang Dynasty through the Yuan Dynasty. This town was the cradle of the Mu family, who governed Lijiang for centuries and built the town’s foundational streets and temples.
