Qiaoxi History Jiequ

Qiaoxi Historical Block occupies the west bank of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, identified by its collection of traditional riverside courtyard houses and modern industrial relics. The name Qiaoxi literally means west of the bridge, a reference to its location beside the Gongchen Bridge, which was built in sixteen thirty-one as the tallest and longest stone arch bridge in the city.
