Jingci Temple is defined by its vibrant yellow walls and a large, red-painted entrance gate flanked by two stone lions. Founded in nine hundred fifty-four by King Qian Chu of the Wuyue kingdom, the temple sits at the southern foot of Nanping Hill. It is known across Hangzhou for the Evening Bell, a tradition that has resonated through the mountains here for centuries.
