The Yanahuara Scenic Overlook is defined by a series of ten symmetrical arches constructed from sillar, the white volcanic stone that defines Arequipa’s traditional architecture. These neoclassical arches were built in the nineteenth century to beautify the area, and they are positioned to frame a panoramic view of the city and the three nearby volcanoes: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu.
