Bantry Steps

Bantry Steps is a residential location along the Atlantic Seaboard of Cape Town, tucked onto the slopes of Lion's Head. The area takes its name from the surrounding suburb of Bantry Bay, which was originally known as Botany Bay due to the botanical experiments and medicinal herb cultivation conducted there by Doctor Liesching. During the First World War, the name transitioned to Bantry Bay after a coastal town in Ireland.
