Casa Gispert sits on Carrer dels Sombrerers, identifiable by the scent of woodsmoke and roasting nuts that drifts from its doorway. Founded in eighteen fifty-one by Josep Gispert, the shop originally functioned as a purveyor of colonial goods like coffee, tea, and spices imported through the nearby port. Its interior remains largely as it appeared in the nineteenth century, featuring a long walnut counter and rustic wooden shelving that hold various local dried fruits and artisanal pantry staples.
