Casa de Diego is marked by its prominent corner position at number twelve Puerta del Sol, where the store has operated since the middle of the nineteenth century. The shopfront displays an array of handcrafted fans, umbrellas, and Manila shawls that have defined its business for over two hundred years. Originally established in eighteen twenty-three by Fernando de Torre on Calle del Carmen, the enterprise moved to its current site following the renovation of the Puerta del Sol.
