Casa de la Panadería

landmark

The Casa de la Panadería stands out on the north side of the Plaza Mayor, distinguished by two square towers at its corners and a facade covered in colorful, intricate murals. It was the first building constructed in the square, with the first stones laid in fifteen ninety. While its name comes from the municipal bakery that once operated on the ground floor, the building has served many roles over four centuries, acting at various times as the home of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, the Royal Academy of History, and the city's archives.
