The Cine Callao is defined by two massive digital screens mounted to its exterior facade, which frequently display vivid, large-scale imagery above the bustling Plaza del Callao. Designed by the architect Luis Gutiérrez Soto, the building opened on December 11, 1926, with the film Luis Candelas, el bandido de Madrid. It stands as a prominent example of Art Deco architecture in the city, featuring a facade decorated with sgraffito patterns of stylized vases and rays.
