La Vía Láctea

La Vía Láctea occupies a two-story space on Velarde Street that once functioned as a coal yard. Opened in July nineteen seventy-nine by founder Marcos López Artiga, the bar takes its name from a music venue he visited in Amsterdam. The interior remains layered with decades of memorabilia, including black-light murals and walls covered in posters that track the history of the neighborhood’s nightlife.
