Plaza Pumarejo is defined by the large, eighteenth-century Casa del Pumarejo that occupies one side of the rectangular space. Built in the seventeen seventies by Pedro Pumarejo, a merchant who demolished over seventy existing homes to clear the site and grandly showcase his new residence, the building features a facade with a balconied portal and two interior patios.
