Jet d'Eau de Genève

monument

The Jet d’Eau rises from the harbor as a massive, vertical plume of white water, reaching one hundred forty meters into the sky. It is powered by two pumps named Jura and Salève, which force five hundred liters of water per second through a nozzle at two hundred kilometers per hour. Millions of air bubbles are injected into the stream, creating the characteristic white color that remains visible throughout the city.
