The Old Siam Plaza

The Old Siam Plaza is a four-story building in the Phra Nakhon district, recognizable by its colonial and Sino-Portuguese architectural style. This style, characterized by its nostalgic, European-influenced exterior, was a prominent design trend during the reign of King Chulalongkorn in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Opened in nineteen ninety-three, the complex occupies the site where the Ming Mueang market once stood, a historic center for tailors and seamstresses who served the nearby textile trade in Phahurat.
