Al Shindagha Museum

Al Shindagha Museum is a sprawling, open-air heritage site set along the banks of Dubai Creek, instantly recognizable by its cluster of more than eighty restored traditional houses built from coral stone, gypsum, and wood. These structures, shaded by traditional wind towers known as barajeel, form the largest heritage museum in the United Arab Emirates. The site serves as a preserved district where narrow alleys and public squares offer a glimpse of the city as it existed in the nineteenth century, when it functioned primarily as a fishing and trading hub.
