Japanese Cemetery

The Japanese Cemetery at thirteen hundred Hillside Boulevard stands out from its neighbors in Colma for its paths of concrete and gravel, which lack the sprawling, park-like green space common to other burial grounds in the area. Owned by the Jikei-kai Japanese Benevolent Society of California, this site was established in nineteen oh one after new laws in San Francisco banned further burials within the city limits.
