The Olympic and Paralympic Cauldron Plaza features a seventy-two-foot-tall glass and steel structure that dominates the southwestern corner of Rice-Eccles Stadium. Designed by WET Design to evoke an icicle, this monument consists of seven hundred and thirty-eight individual glass pieces and was the very site where the Olympic flame burned during the two thousand and two Winter Games.
