The Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities is marked by the ornate, heavy timber frame of the Long An Palace, which houses its collection. Built in eighteen forty-five for Emperor Thieu Tri, this structure features one hundred twenty-eight pillars carved with dragons, unicorns, turtles, and phoenixes, along with more than one thousand poems inscribed in Han characters. It is recognized as a masterwork of Vietnamese wooden architecture.
