Mural on Northern Avenue

Northern Avenue in central Yerevan features modern murals painted directly onto the facades of its residential buildings. These works decorate the pink tuff stone that defines much of the city's architecture. The murals blend artistic expression with the social and political life of the neighborhood, ranging from literary tributes, such as a prominent mural depicting Edgar Allan Poe, to works that emerge as part of local campaigns to protect historic structures from demolition.
