Clovelly Beach

Clovelly Beach is a narrow, sheltered inlet defined by long concrete promenades and platforms rather than a sprawling sandy shore. This design gives the beach the feel of a large, natural swimming pool, protecting the water from the heavy surf found at many of Sydney's other coastal spots. The bay was known as Little Coogee throughout the nineteenth century, a name that eventually caused confusion once local tram lines made the area more accessible.
