Bronte Beach

Bronte Beach is defined by the contrast between its narrow strip of sand and the steep sandstone cliffs that wrap around the valley behind it. While many visitors associate the name with the literary Brontë sisters, the area was actually named after Bronte House, a home built in eighteen forty-five by Robert Lowe. Lowe named his estate in honor of the British admiral Horatio Nelson, who had been granted the title Duke of Bronté by the King of Sicily.
