Eighth Street, known locally as Main Street, serves as the primary commercial spine of Canmore. You can distinguish this stretch by its dense collection of boutique shops, restaurants, and galleries, many housed in structures that date back to the late nineteenth century. Between May and October, the blocks between Sixth and Eighth Avenues close to vehicles, turning the thoroughfare into a pedestrian-only zone where café patios expand directly onto the pavement.
