Pod Zidom Bistro occupies a site on a street sharing its name, which translates literally to Under the Wall. This title marks the path where a defensive wall once stood to protect the Kaptol district. Workers dismantled that structure in the nineteen twenties to clear space for the adjacent Dolac market, but the street retained its historical designation.
