The Sayyida Sakina Mosque stands in the Al Khalifa neighborhood with a dome and minaret carved in a neo-Mamluk style. Completed in nineteen oh four, the current building replaced an earlier structure from seventeen sixty. The mosque is named for Sayyida Sakina, a granddaughter of the prophet Muhammad and daughter of Imam Husayn.
