La Sucrière is identified by the three towering silos that rise from its southern side along the banks of the Saône. Built in the nineteen thirties, the structure functioned as a warehouse for storing sugar until the nineties. Its name reflects this industrial origin, as the building was once the site of the Entrepôt Réel des Sucres Indigènes.
