Bandra Fort

other

Bandra Fort, known historically as Castella de Aguada, sits at the southern tip of the Bandra Bandstand promenade where the land drops into the Arabian Sea. The structure is defined by its surviving stone ramparts, arched pillars, and a series of terraced levels that overlook Mahim Bay. Built by the Portuguese in sixteen forty, the name translates to Fort of the Waterpoint, referring to a freshwater spring once located within the walls that provided a critical supply for passing ships.
