The Bandstand Promenade is a one point two kilometer walkway that curves along the Arabian Sea, identifiable by the jagged, rocky shoreline that separates the paved path from the water. Its name comes from the nineteenth century, when military and brass bands performed on a seaside platform to entertain the colonial elite of Bandra. This stretch of coast later shifted from a quiet area for evening strolls into a focal point for the city’s film industry.
