The Sostegno della Bova is a historic navigation lock positioned outside Porta Lame, identified by the yellow caretaker’s house inscribed with the name Alloggiamento Idraulico La Bova. This site serves as the confluence point where the Cavaticcio and Moline canals join to feed the Navile Canal. Originally established as the port of Maccagnano in twelve eighty-four, the basin underwent shifts in its operation to manage water levels and silt, eventually functioning as a canal lock.
