The Statua del Gigante is a fourteen-meter-tall concrete and iron sculpture of the Roman sea god Neptune, anchored to the rocky cliffside at the western end of Fegina beach. Constructed in nineteen ten by sculptor Arrigo Minerbi and engineer Levacher, it was originally the crowning feature of the luxurious Villa Pastine. The statue once held a trident and supported a massive shell-shaped terrace, which served as a panoramic platform for the villa’s owners, Giovanni and Juanita Pastine, to admire the Ligurian Sea.
