Statua di San Francesco d'Assisi

The bronze statue of Saint Francis of Assisi stands on San Cristoforo Hill, overlooking the bay of Monterosso al Mare. Created by the Milanese sculptor Silvio Monfrini, this life-sized monument depicts the saint reaching out to the wolf of Gubbio, a scene drawn from the thirteenth-century legend of his encounter with the predatory animal.
