The Pola Museum of Art is defined by a low-slung, glass-and-concrete structure that hides most of its floor space beneath the forest floor. Designed by the architectural firm Nikken Sekkei, the building sits within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and was constructed with an eight-meter height limit to ensure it does not loom over the surrounding beech trees.
