Universounds sits on the second floor of the Plaza U building, tucked inside the PAL shopping district in Koenji. It is a small, specialized shop that focuses on rare jazz, funk, soul, and what collectors call rare grooves. The owner, Yusuke Ogawa, opened the store in two thousand one, originally operating out of Shinjuku before moving to this space in two thousand eight.
