The Oaxaca Graphic Arts Institute, known locally as IAGO, occupies an eighteenth-century building on Macedonio Alcalá Street. It was founded in November nineteen eighty-eight by the Oaxacan painter Francisco Toledo, who established it as a space to make art and literature accessible to the public. The institute houses one of the most significant collections of graphic arts in Latin America and operates as a library with over fifty thousand volumes.
