Dongzhen Gate is a stone structure recognizable by its curved, recessed archway. It stands as a surviving fragment of the defensive fortifications that once enclosed the city of Guilin. While many of the original walls were lost to the expansions and conflicts of the twentieth century, this gate remains as a marker of the city’s historic layout.
