The Jingjiang Princes' Palace is defined by its massive stone wall, which rises eight meters high to enclose the heart of Guilin. Built between thirteen seventy-two and thirteen ninety-two, this complex predates the Forbidden City in Beijing by over three decades. It served as the residence for fourteen princes across twelve generations during the Ming Dynasty, functioning as a walled city within the city of Guilin.
