Guilin Zhengyang Road Pedestrian Street

Zhengyang Road Pedestrian Street is recognizable by a seventeen-and-a-half-meter-high red bell tower that stands in the middle of the thoroughfare. This structure serves as the primary landmark of a six-hundred-sixty-six-meter-long walkway paved with flagstones. While the pedestrian-only zone opened to the public on New Year’s Day in two thousand one, the road itself has functioned as a central corridor for commerce and opera in Guilin since the Tang Dynasty.
