The Guihai Tablets Forest is defined by its massive collection of cliffside carvings and stone inscriptions that coat the limestone walls of Longyin Cave and Longyin Rock. Since the Tang Dynasty, travelers and officials passing through Guilin etched poems, records, and political decrees directly into the cave stone, creating a surface where few patches of bare rock remain.
