Xi'an Baxian An Flea Market

The flea market at Baxian An occupies the alleyways and old buildings immediately surrounding the Wanshou Baxian Palace, the largest and most prominent Taoist temple in Xi’an. The market is defined by its sprawling, spontaneous character, with vendors laying out mats and wares directly on the ground or within rows of two-story structures that border the temple entrance. While the market operates daily, it reaches its most active state on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, when local traders and residents congregate to exchange a vast array of goods.
