Cine Oriente Theater, located within the Colonnade Mall on Colon Street, holds the distinction of being the oldest cinema in Cebu City. Originally established in eighteen ninety-five as Teatro Junquera, the venue served as a center for stage plays, vaudeville, and operas. In the nineteen twenties, it transitioned into a cinematograph and was eventually purchased by Don Jose Avila, who remodeled the structure and renamed it Cine Oriente.
