The Casa do Infante presents a sober Gothic facade onto the Rua da Alfândega, marked by arched windows and a stone portal bearing the royal coat of arms. First established in thirteen twenty-five by royal decree, the structure served as the city’s customs house, warehouse, and mint, positioned to monitor all trade entering Porto by the Douro River.
