The Ee Hoe Hean Club at forty-three Bukit Pasoh Road is recognizable by its historic three-storey facade, which has stood as a meeting point for Singapore’s Chinese business elite since the early twentieth century. Founded in eighteen ninety-five, the club began as a place where wealthy merchants gathered for social and business networking. Over time, it evolved into a political nerve center, particularly during the turbulent decades when its members organized regional support for events in China, including the nineteen eleven Xinhai Revolution and later resistance efforts.
