Rocklands Beach is distinguished by its rocky shoreline and a sharp kink in the Sea Point Promenade where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. Located in the suburb of Sea Point, this spot sits along a section of the coastline that underwent significant engineering in the nineteen twenties. During that decade, the City of Cape Town began building a concrete seawall to stabilize the shore and facilitate movement between the neighborhoods of Mouille Point and Sea Point, eventually creating the continuous walkway known today as the Promenade.
