A massive rock face rises above the Samneung Valley trail, bearing six distinct figures etched directly into the stone. These are the Seon-gakyukjonbul, or the six-figure carvings, created during the Unified Silla period. Unlike statues carved in high relief that stand out from the mountain, these figures are drawn in delicate, linear strokes that appear almost like ink sketches left on the granite surface.
