Three large, grass-covered circular mounds sit in a row at the western foot of Namsan Mountain. Known as Samneung, meaning three royal tombs, these earthen structures house the traditional remains of three kings of the Silla Kingdom: King Adala, King Sindeok, and King Gyeongmyeong. A dense, ancient pine forest surrounds the site, with many of the trees leaning in curves toward the mounds.
