Church San Antonio Abad

The Church of San Antonio Abad, located on Calle Alfonso XII, is distinguished by its eighteenth-century portal, which features a split pediment housing an arch with a painting of Fray Diego de Alcalá. This building arose from the eighteenth-century architectural fusion of two originally separate institutions: an ancient hospital dedicated to treating ergotism, often called Saint Anthony's fire, and a chapel belonging to the Brotherhood of Silence.
