Triana Bridge

The Triana Bridge is defined by its sweeping metal arches and substantial stone pylons that cross the Guadalquivir River. Officially known as the Puente de Isabel II, this structure was inaugurated in eighteen fifty-two as the first permanent, solid bridge in Seville. Before its construction, the city relied for centuries on a precarious pontoon bridge made of thirteen wooden boats chained together, which were frequently damaged by the river’s currents and flooding.
