The Chat Noir occupies a building on Rue Vautier where a ground-floor bar and restaurant operate above a subterranean concert venue. Established on December seventh, nineteen eighty-five, the club began when four childhood friends, Alain Gilliand, his wife Catherine, his brother Pierre-Edmond, and Roland le Blévennec, pooled their efforts to create a late-night destination in Carouge.
