Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan

Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan is defined by its giant, gold-plated stupa, where stone elephants appear to emerge from the masonry around its base. Founded in thirteen forty-five by King Phayu of the Mangrai Dynasty, the temple was originally built to enshrine the ashes of his father, King Kham Fu. While it began as a memorial site, the temple gained its current name in thirteen sixty-seven following the arrival of a highly revered Buddha image known as the Phra Buddha Sihing.
